Mattie Wilene Miller, 80, of Madill, Oklahoma, passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at the Brookside Nursing Center in Madill. She was born on August 23, 1931 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to the late Zeke Blevins and Mary Geree Reynolds Blevins.

 

Wilene spent most of her life in Marshall County. She attended grade school at Aylesworth, graduated from Madill High School in 1949 before attending Oklahoma College for Women. Wilene worked for several law firms as a legal secretary and also for Halliburton Patent Department in Duncan, Oklahoma.

 

She married Floyd Miller in 1957 in Madill. Wilene was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church in Madill, where she served as a temporary Secretary and also helped in the choir. She was also was a member of the American Legion, VGW Auxiliaries, the Eastern Star and she was the first female member of the local Lions Club.

 

Wilene was very active in establishing the Madill Library and her greatest love was reading and spoiling her grandchildren. She is survived by husband, Floyd Miller, Madill, Oklahoma; children, Jeff Mundy and wife Johnnie, Duncan, Oklahoma, Eric Miller and wife Carla, Yukon, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Jamie Rowell, Jeri Beth Mundy, Erin Miller; great grandchild, Addison Rowell.

 

Memorials may be made to the Madill City Library or a charity of your choice . Visitation will be Friday, July 20, at the Watts Funeral Home, Madill from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm with a family hour from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Services will be Saturday, July 21, 2012, at 10:00am at the Watts Memorial Chapel, Madill, Oklahoma. Charles Cox will officiate the services. Music arranged by Sue Beard. Interment will be at the Oakland Cemetery, Oakland, Oklahoma. Services will be under the direction of Watts Funeral Home, Madill, Oklahoma.
