USAO Grad Joins Staff As Print Shop Manager
Six years after graduating from USAO, Adam Heilman has returned to the university to use both his design skills acquired in college and his work experience in printing.
“I’m excited to join the USAO team,” Heilman said. “My time here in college meant so much to me, not only because of the experience I had and everything I learned, but also because it’s where I met my wife, Amber.”
Heilman graduated with a bachelor’s of fine arts degree in graphic design in 2004. He built ads for the Chickasha Express-Star for a year and a half before taking a management position with Staples’ Copy Center. In July, he became the manager of USAO Printing Services.
“I wanted to work at USAO because I really enjoy the creative aspects of my job, and I love the collaborating we do,” he said.
While Heilman’s main responsibility is managing the print shop, he assists in development, design and printing of many different publications for the media and community relations office. He also coordinates bulk mail projects for USAO.
“Adam has a lot of talent, insight and team spirit,” said Randy Talley, director of media and community relations. “We’re delighted to welcome him to the USAO team.”
Heilman said his main interest outside of the office is his family. He and his wife, also an artist, have been married for eight years and live in Chickasha. They have a daughter and a son. The four of them can often be found doing art projects or playing at the park, he said.
