BELCHER, Judy (Carroll)

Judy Carroll Belcher was born Jan. 28, 1964. She graduated from Moore HS in 1982 and received a BA in Communications from USAO in Chickasha and an MFA in Theater from the Univ. of Arkansas. She was intimately involved in college and Community Theater throughout her life. She acted, directed and worked backstage with many theater companies around the state, including Chickasha Community Theatre, Jewel Box and Broken Arrow Community Playhouse. After receiving her MFA, she taught Speech/Theater at ECCC in Decatur, MS for 7 years. She moved to Tulsa and worked first as an assistant before becoming manager of Clark Youth Theater. For the last 7 years she has resided in Oklahoma City and, most recently, directed Once Upon a Mattress for Chickasha Community Theatre. She is survived by husband, Morgan Belcher, mother, Mary Carroll, sisters, Margaret Johnson and Bridget Fisher, and brothers, Ray and Wayne Carroll. Memorial Service is Sat., Sep. 25 at 11 AM at St. Andrew's United Methodist Church in OKC. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the ASPCA or Humane Society.
