BOYD, Larry D.
Graveside service for Larry D. Boyd, 62, Sulphur, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Faxon Cemetery, Faxon, with Kenny Palmer officiating. Larry passed away Saturday, March 10, 2012, in Sulphur. Arrangements are by Hales Krien Funeral Home. Larry was born May 14, 1949, to George I. and Thelma Pierce Boyd, in Grandfield. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps Infantry during the Vietnam War, where he was wounded in action on Jan. 13, 1968. Larry later retired from the military. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from U.S.A.O. in Chickasha, and worked for the Internal Revenue Service. He and Ruth A. Benson were married Aug. 11, 1972, in Lawton. Larry was a member of Disabled American Veterans. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, George and Thelma Boyd; sisters: Rose Fridley and Jackie Palmer; and brother, David Boyd. He is survived by one son, Larry D. Boyd II, of Sulphur; two daughters: Kimberly A. Morrison and Tiffany M. Smithers, both of Ukiah, Calif.; stepparents, Gloria and David Moore, of Sulphur; six grandchildren: Kade W. Boyd, Logan Morrison, Ethan Morrison, Casey Morrison, Tessla Wiley and Dalton Boyd; brothers: Charley Boyd, Ronnie Boyd, Russell Hudson, Denny Boyd and Darren Boyd; sisters: Phyllis Woodall, Kay Uresti, Jenny Vallo and Janine Smith.
