Memorial service for Mary Janice (Andrews) Brauer, age 80, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 20, 2009, in the Epworth United Methodist Church. Rev. Rockford Johnson will officiate, and Rev. Don Horton will assist. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the church prior to the service. Mary Janice was born the daughter of Foster Findley F.F."" Andrews and Lutie Lee Lindsey Andrews on September 19, 1928, in Anadarko, Oklahoma. She died on April 16, 2009 in Chickasha. Janice was born and raised in Anadarko. She married Chickasha architect, Leslie George Brauer in June of 1949 in Anadarko. She graduated from Oklahoma College for Women in 1951. Janice worked as an independent sales representative for Doncaster Fashions, office manager for Redlands Girl Scout Council, real estate broker for American Real Estate, and was designated as a certified residential specialist until her retirement in 2005. She was a member of the following clubs and organizations: United States Electoral College as a Republican Elector for President Gerald Ford, representing the Oklahoma Delegation was an original Bellmon Belle"" during Governor Henry Bellmon's first gubernatorial race alumna of Oklahoma College for Women, now U.S.A.O. active in the Republican Party at the local and state levels served as a regent for Redlands Community College in El Reno a member of the Grady County Realtors Association and the Oklahoma State Realtors Association member of the Epworth United Methodist Church and the Chancel Choir. She sponsored various youth organizations. She was also a member of the Chickasha Home Culture Club member of the Junior Social Workers of Chickasha member and supporter of the Chickasha Community Theater volunteered as a &quotGrey Lady"" at Grady Memorial Hospital was a member of the Chickasha Altrusa. She was a longtime member of the Chickasha Country Club and the Ladies' Bridge Club. She was preceded in death by her husband an infant son her parents two sisters, Jeanne McCarver and Jane Poteet and son-in-law, James Ellis Anderson. Survivors include daughter, Leslie Ann Brauer Anderson of Chickasha son & daughter-in-law, Judge Timothy Andrews Brauer & Sherre of Chickasha grandson, Leslie James Jimmy"" Anderson of Austin, Texas granddaughter, Lindsey Ellen Anderson of Chickasha grandson, Travis Goss Brauer of Chickasha grandson, Caleb Andrews Brauer of Chickasha brother-in-law, Adren Poteet of Healdton nephews: Bruce Poteet of Norman & Tom McCarver of Magnolia, Texas nieces: Jamie Aldridge of Blanchard & Paula Brown of Norman one great-nephew & one great-niece. Arrangements for cremation are under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home. There will be no viewing. Memorial contributions may be made to Mobile Meals, 412 Fieldcrest, Chickasha, OK 73018, and the Epworth United Methodist Church.
