Cranton, Phyllis Jean PHYLLIS JEAN CRANTON Funeral service for Phyllis Jean Cranton, 78, of Oxford, Mississippi, formerly of Chickasha, were held Monday, April 14, 2008, at 10:00a.m., in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel. The Reverend Jeffrey B. Cranton, Phyllis' grandson, will officiate. Phyllis was born November 9, 1929 in Concordia, Kansas, the daughter of Anton C. (Tony) and Victoria Andersen. She died Wednesday, April 09, 2008, in Oxford, Mississippi following a brief illness. Phyllis grew up in Salina and after graduating from high school attended Oklahoma College for Women. She married Willard Courtney Cranton on May 7, 1948 and together they raised 4 children. Phyllis was employed as a Vice President of the First National Bank of Chickasha and retired in 1985. She enjoyed many hobbies, including sewing and quilting, reading, listening to music, cooking for her family and spoiling her two dogs, Sadie and Linus. She was preceded in death by both parents; three sisters; and her husband. Survivors include four children and their spouses: Mike and Diane Cranton, of Bartlesville; Vickie and Colin Smith, of Phoenix, Arizona; Tracy and Beth Cranton, of Chickasha, and Robin and Denny Buchannon, of Oxford, Mississippi; one brother and sister-in-law: Jay and Mary Andersen, of Salina, Kansas; six grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. Internment was in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
