Lee Roy Decker, age 70, of Mead, died Wednesday, January 2, 2008, in Dallas, Texas. Funeral services will be at Streetman Road Baptist Church, Mead, at 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 7, 2008, with the Rev. Darren Wallace officiating, assisted by the Rev. Buddy Hunt. Interment will be at 2 p.m. at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Duncan under the direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home, Duncan. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. He was born on May 23, 1937, in Stillwater, the son of Roy E. and Hazel (Paxton) Decker. He married Barbara Burnett on Aug. 8, 1959 in Duncan. He was a veteran and served in the United States Army. As a graduate of Oklahoma College of Liberal Arts, Chickasha, with a major in chemistry, he worked as a petroleum engineer with Halliburton Services 29 years. Eleven of those years with Halliburton International, retiring in 1992. He was a member of Streetman Road Baptist Church in Mead and served as a deacon. He also was director and chaplain for Lake Texhoma Baptist Resort Ministries. Survivors include his wife Barbara, of the home, his mother, Hazel Decker of Oklahoma City, a daughter, Tama Leah Decker of Mustang, two sons, Chris Decker and wife Dionne of The Colony, Texas and Keith Decker and wife Rhonda of Highlands, Texas, three sisters, Lois Tutt of Oklahoma City, Carol Ann Friedricks of Longview, Texas and Francie Hill of Temple, Texas, two brothers, Sam Decker and Delmer Decker, both of Oklahoma City, eleven grandchildren: Cory Decker, James Decker, Margaret Decker, Abigail Decker, Elizabeth Skeen, Tiffany Arnett, Kealy Decker, Jennifer Boyd, Jason Boyd, Colten Sylvester and Clinten Sylvester, six great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father. Pallbearers will be Ricky, Robbie and Danny Tutt, Dickie Welch, Colten and Clinten Sylvester. Honorary bearers are members of his Sunday school class, the Lake Texhoma Baptist Resort Ministries board members: Bob Raus, Paul Bettis, Gary Dempsey, Terrell Suggs, Lash Banks and Robby Partain.
