DUNN, Alicia R. (Comby)

HICKORY, Alicia Ruth Comby Dunn, 87, of 29th Ave. NE, Hickory died Thursday, October 14, 2010 at a residence in Hickory. She was born August 24, 1923 to her parents, the late Henry Burchard and Alice Mae Little Comby. Alicia was a graduate of Chickasha High School and attended Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha, Okla. She worked for the American Red Cross and the U.S. Government in many capacities, including the Department of Agriculture. Two stepsons, Michael Dunn and Pat Dunn, both of Oklahoma; a brother, William J. ""Bill"" Comby of Conover survive her. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews including: Alicia Comby Deal and husband Bruce of Hickory, Jeanne Comby Jarrett and husband Bob of Conover, Teresa Comby Childers and husband Tim of Newton; and a nephew, Blake Comby of Conover. Her first husband, Charles Page Campbell and second husband, Howard O'Quinn Dunn; three brothers, Henry Burchard Comby, Jr., Harvey Richard Comby, Jack Allen Comby; three sisters, Beryl C. Leek, Jean C. Cramer and Doris Nadine Comby preceded her in death. A graveside service will be Saturday, October 23, 2010 at Fairlawn Cemetery in Chickasha, Okla. The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8 p.m. Monday, October 18, 2010 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Newton. Memorials may be made to your local American Red Cross.
