Mita Ann Minnett Ehn, 78, died Friday, Nov. 20, 2009, in Arlington after a courageous battle with vascular dementia. Memorial service: 1p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, at Sevier Funeral Home, 702 W. Chickasha Ave., in Chickasha, OK. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, 825 N.E. 13th St., Oklahoma City, OK 73104, or the Alzheimer's Association. She was born in Chickasha, OK, on Oct. 30, 1931, to Henry and Norma Collins Minnett. Her father was a roughneck during her early years, and her family followed the oil fields of southern Oklahoma and west Texas, settling again in Chickasha during her early teens. Mita graduated from Chickasha High School in 1949 and graduated from Oklahoma College for Women in 1953 with a degree in biology. That same year she married James Robert Ehn, also of Chickasha. She worked as a lab technician and medical technologist at hospitals throughout the country, from Chicago to Los Angeles, retiring from Oklahoma Children's Memorial Hospital in 1996. Mita moved from her home in Oklahoma City to Arlington in 2003 to be closer to her sons and their families. She was a proud member of the Chickasaw Nation of Oklahoma, and enjoyed ballroom dancing and watching her grandson, Cameron, play football and baseball. The Ehn family wishes to thank the staff of Avalon Residential Care Home in Arlington for the compassionate care given to Mita during her illness. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Gail Minnett Justis of Forest, Va. Survivors: Her sons, Morgan Henry Ehn and wife, Kimberly, of Flower Mound and Warren Robert Ehn and wife, Dr. Kerstin Archer, of Arlington; her grandson, Cameron Taylor Ehn, a junior at Oklahoma State University; her brother and sister-in-law, Dr. John B. and Bettye Minnett of Chickasha; her sister, Jule Minnett Sewell of Denton; her brother-in-law, David L. Justis of Forest, Va.; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Moore Funeral Home Arlington, 817-275-2711.
