CLARKS Nancy I. Ficken, 65, of Clarks died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2007, at University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Wagner Funeral Home in Central City, with the Rev. Ralph Supernaw officiating. Burial will be at a later date. There will be no visitation. Ms. Ficken was born Oct. 25, 1942, at Enid, Okla., to Alfred R. and Thelma I. (Diedrich) Ficken. Survivors of the immediate family include her parents of Clarks; and a sister and brother-in-law, Peggy and Ronald Miller of Clarks. OOO Additional survivors include three nieces, Lou Anne Miller of Lincoln, Gloria and Calvin Gress of Central City and Deborah and Elio Zepeda of Coon Rapids, Minn.; a nephew, David and Kathy Miller of Clarks; seven great-nephews, two great-nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins, and her dog, Buddy. She grew up in Marshall, Okla., and attended school there, graduating from Marshall High School in 1960. She continued her education and graduated from Oklahoma College for Women in Chichasha, Okla. She did her med-tech training at Hillcrest Hospital in Tulsa, Okla., before working for a private practice pathologist in Enid. She also worked at Stillwater Medical Center in Stillwater, Okla. In 1979, she started working in the lab at St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island. She assisted with the transition and move to the new hospital, where she worked up until the time of her death. She was a member of the National Association of Certified Pathologists, and the Marshall United Church of Christ. She was an avid reader and collected books, mustard jars and music boxes. She enjoyed listening to Elvis and classical music. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Carl and Elizabeth Diedrich and Frank and Emilie Ficken; a sister, Frances Henrietta Ficken; and a great-nephew, Martin Miller.
