FREEMAN, Jewell L. (Dixon)

Jewell LaVaughn Suddath Freeman of Pauls Valley was born December 19, 1911 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to Grover Cleveland Dixon and Myrtle Armour Dixon. She passed away April 4, 2009 at Pauls Valley, Oklahoma at the age of 97 years. Jewell graduated from Pauls Valley High School in the class of 1928 and attended Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha, Okla. She married A.N. (Bill) Suddath on September 10, 1931. They had one son, Noel Dixon Suddath. After the death of her husband of 43 years she married William Jennings Freeman on August 9, 1975. He preceded her in death on December 23, 1999. She was a member of 1st Presbyterian Church. Surviving family include her son and daughter-in-law, Noel and Emma Suddath of Norman; grandsons: Noel C. Suddath of Norman, and Joel D. Suddath and his wife Rhonda of Tuttle; great-grandchildren, Marie Noelle Suddath and Terra Denise Suddath of Tuttle; and step great-granddaughter, Tiffany Melton of Tuttle. The family wishes to thank the caregivers, Joyce Ward and Patsy Withrow for their loving care; the Pauls Valley Hospice as well as her many friends and relatives. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 9, 2009 at 2 p.m. at 1st Presbyterian Church officiated by Rev. Tom Buzbee. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.
