GARY, Vinita (White)
Gary, Vinita W. Vinita W. Gary passed away gently from this life Friday, July 17, in Norman. Memorial services will be held at the Portland Avenue Baptist Church at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 23. In lieu of flowers she requested that donations be made to medical research. The daughter of John and Laura, she was born Vinita Marie White, June 22, 1921 in Bentley, Atoka, Oklahoma. Her father was killed in an on the job accident when she was a child. Her stepfather was Herman Case. Vinita graduated from Atoka High School and attended the Oklahoma College For Women in Chickasha, Oklahoma, receiving a Teacher's Certificate in 1942.She married her first husband, Vernon Bierman, in 1945 and helped him run his business, a DX service station. They were together for twenty-one years. In 1972 she married W.H. (Dub) Gary, a long-time employee of the Oklahoma Highway Department. She and Dub enjoyed square dancing and were members of the Good Sams camping club. Her brother Eugene White and his wife Charlotte of Oklahoma City, a son Larry Bierman of Norman, two stepsons Bob Gary and his wife Patti of Tucson, Arizona, Darell Gary and his wife Dee of Kansas City, Missouri, a stepdaughter Claudia Gary of Tucson, Arizona, four grandchildren and three great grandsons survive her. Vinita was an Organ Donor.
