GIDDENS, Justin W.

Justin Wade Giddens, 52, was born February 26, 1956 in Chickasha, Oklahoma to the late Luther Giddens and Betty Ballard. He passed away December 2, 2008 in Oklahoma City. Justin graduated from Amber-Pocasset Schools in 1974 and received his Bachelor of Science Degree in 1978 from USAO in Chickasha. He started his career with the State of Oklahoma Department of Human Services in 1978 as a social worker in Grady County and later serving as County Director in Logan County and most recently as County Director in Canadian County. He married his high school sweetheart, Robin Pearcy, on February 14, 1978. They moved to Guthrie, Oklahoma in 1980 where the family currently resides. They were blessed with two wonderful children, Kristen Nicole Giddens of Guthrie and Jessica Paige (JP) Giddens of Owasso, Oklahoma. Kristen provided Justin and Robin with two beautiful grandchildren, Bailee Paige and Nickolas Wade Giddens. Justin and Robin shared true love and were soul mates. They were so fortunate to share a wonderful and fulfilling relationship for 36 years, something so many never experience. Justin was preceded in death by his father, brother, James Luther Giddens (Junior) and stepfather, Paul Ballard. He is survived by his wife of the home, mother, sister, Paula Barrington of Oklahoma City and brother, Mark Ballard of Chickasha, an aunt, many cousins, a host of nieces, a nephew, and great nephew as well as many, many friends. The family would like to express their deep heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Mercy Hospital, the employees of the Department of Human Services, Poplar and Warner Church of Christ congregation and many other friends that provided such wonderful caring and tender attention, notes and telephone calls with many special stories, thoughts and prayers. Justin was a very active member of the Poplar and Warner Church of Christ in Guthrie where he served as Deacon and taught Bible Class for many years. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2008 at the Edmond Church of Christ located at 801 South Bryant with Minister Rob Lester officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made at the Poplar and Warner Church of Christ at 320 North Poplar, Guthrie, OK 73044. Arrangements were under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie.
