Green, Elaine Louise Memorial service for Elaine Louise Green will be 11 a.m., Friday, Oct. 16, at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Deborah Meinke officiating. Visitation will be at Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Funeral Service and Crematory, Claremore, Thursday 1-8 p.m. Elaine died Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2009, at St. Francis Hospital, Tulsa, at the age of 69.The daughter of Vernon Noble and Vallee Melvina (Lefever) Kidd was born May 19, 1940, in Washington, D.C. In 1958, Elaine graduated from Will Rogers High School; and continued her education at Oklahoma College for Women where she received her Bachelor's degree in Education. She earned her Master's degree from Tulsa University with a degree in Special Education. She loved her work as a teacher and worked for Tulsa Public Schools for 32 years with special needs children. After retirement she continued teaching as a substitute. Elaine was baptized and married on July 28, 1962, to Ernest Anton Green, Jr. at the First Presbyterian Church, Tulsa. She and Ernest moved to Claremore in 1978 where Elaine became an active member of First Presbyterian Church, Claremore. She served as an Elder and Sunday School teacher; and as a member of the Worship Committee, Presbyterian Women, Circle II, and Pastor Nominating Committee. Elaine was active in Girl Scouts for ten years, and had also been a Camp Fire Girls leader. She was a member of PEO Chapter FI, OEA, NEA, Tulsa Classroom Teachers Association, and St. Simeon's Auxillary. Elaine was currently serving as vice-president of her PEO Chapter. She enjoyed her close relationship with her family, and traveling, reading, and cooking. Elaine is survived by her husband of 47 years, Ernest of the home; daughters: Amanda Green of Shreveport, La., and Alison Eagle and husband, Jeff of Tulsa; sister, Margaret Keener and husband, Marvin of Stillwater; and brother, Vernon Noble Kidd and wife, Marilyn of Dallas, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents, and son, Brian. Memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 102 E. 4th St., Claremore, OK 74017.
