Mary Elizabeth (Goodgion) Harrison, 88, of Richmond, died at 3:02 p.m., Monday, June 7, 2010, at her home. Elizabeth was born Sept. 14, 1921, in Miller (Pushmataha County), Okla., the daughter of Lawrence Crawford Goodgion and Mary Elizabeth (Clinkscales) Goodgion. She was a retired elementary teacher, having taught in Ray County for approximately 16 years. Prior to that she was bookkeeper at Pollock Truck and Tractor Company in Richmond. During WWII she worked as a civilian secretary for the U.S. Army Air Force in Ardmore, Okla. and Shreveport, La. Prior to retirement Elizabeth was co-owner of Harrisons Body Shop. Elizabeth married Eldon Thomas Harrison of Kansas City, Mo., June 11, 1944, in the Chapel at Ardmore Army Air Base; he preceded her in death. She attended Oklahoma College for Women, Southeastern State College and received her degree at Central Missouri State University. She was a member of the Richmond United Methodist Church, Ray County Historical Society, Ray County Genealogical Society, Eastern Star, FCE, Allen-Morton-Watkins Chapter DAR and Ray County Retired School Personnel. Survivors include: one daughter, Carolyn Bush and her husband, Garry, Richmond; two sons, Tom W. Harrison and his wife, Donna, Danville, Calif., and Michael T. Harrison and his companion, Kristy Batchelar, Richmond; eight grandchildren, Marc Bush, Craig Carter, Jason Bush, Chris Bush, Kristin Harrison, Kerri Brunell, Traci Bray and Michael Harrison II; eight great-grandchildren, Kyler Bush, Jakob Bush, Gaige Brunell, Patrick Brunell, Peyton Brunell, Trista Bray, Trinity Bray and Tristen Bush; and KristyÆs children, Brandon and Stacie Batchelar. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Richmond United Methodist Church or the Ray County Memorial Hospital Hospice. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one brother, James Goodgion; and one great-grandson, Jeffrey Kyle Bray. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m., Friday, June 11, at Thurman Funeral Home, Richmond. Fu
