Haymes, Jane HAYMES,, JANE VANCE MATHIS Jane Haymes died peacefully on September 19, 2007. She was born on January 26, 1914 in Frederick, Oklahoma. She graduated form Oklahoma College for Women with a Bachelors in mathematics. She married Carl Orville Haymes in 1939. After his untimely death in 1960 she returned to teaching in DISD until retiring in 1979. She is survived by son David, daughter-in-law Cherry, granddaughter Cathy Tong and husband Alan, granddaughter Stacy Piccagli and husband Lawrence, granddaughter Haley Haymes, niece Mary Jane Hulin and husband Ron, 4 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews who will remember her for her story telling, quick wit, kind heart, and red pencil. She was loved and admired by students, friends and family. Her life of service and her dignity in later life is an example for us all. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to North Park Presbyterian Church, Salvation Army, or Faith Hospice. Graveside service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at Laurel Land Memorial Park followed by a memorial service at 2:00 P.M. at North Park Presbyterian Church, 9555 N. Central Expwy, Dallas.
