HODGES, Winifred B. (Ragsdale)

Winifred B. Hodges, 86, died Wednesday, June 20, 2007, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City. She was born May 31, 1921, to George B. and Maggie L. (Creed) Ragsdale in Liberal. She married Basil L. Hodges Feb. 16, 1941, in Liberal. He died Oct. 28, 1998. She graduated Liberal High School in 1939 and attended Oklahoma College for Women in Chickashaw, Okla. She and her husband owned the Hodges Candy for many years. She was a member of the First Christian Church, the CWF, Jolly Girls Bridge Club and J.U.G. Club, all of Liberal. Survivors include two sons, Ralph Hodges and wife, Terri, Ardmore, Okla., Kent Hodges, Liberal; and two grandchildren, Ryan Hodges, Ardmore, and Jamie Hodges, Dallas. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Gilbert Ragsdale and Ralph Ragsdale; one sister, Alynee Bragg. * Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the First Christian Church, with the Rev. Jack Russell presiding. Burial will be in the Liberal Cemetery. Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the Miller Mortuary. Memorials are suggested to the First Christian Church or to Wheatridge Care Park Center in care of the mortuary.
