ANADARKO -- Funeral for Richard Braton Hubbard, 55, Poston, Ariz., will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Virginia Avenue Baptist Church in Anadarko with Marvin Delaware officiating. Mr. Hubbard died Tuesday, March 20, 2007, in Phoenix. A prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. today at Virginia Avenue Baptist Church under direction of Comanche Nation Funeral Home.

He was born Nov. 9, 1951, in Lawton to William and Wanda Stephenson Hubbard. He graduated from Chilocco Indian School and attended USAO in Chickasha, Cook Theological School in Tempe, Ariz., and was a certified souf chef from the Culinary School of Arts in Massachusetts. He was in the United States Army from May 1971 until Nov. 1973. He received his master's of divinity in 2005 from Central Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, Kan. He pastored Poston Community Baptist Church on the Colorado River Indian Reservation. He married Belinda Herrera.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; two sons and a daughter-in-law: Blake L. Hubbard, Poston and Stephenson and Katherine Hubbard, Lawrence; five daughters: Genesis M. Hubbard, Melissa L. Hubbard and Melinda R. Hubbard, all of Poston; Alixandrea Hubbard and Kara Hubbard, both of Anadarko; six grandchildren: Catalina Hubbard, Lawrence; Shaney L. Hubbard, Kyus S. Henry, Asiah B. Henry, Richard S. Henry and Adrianna L. Henry, all of Anadarko; two brothers: William Hubbard and Thomas Hubbard, both of San Francisco; a sister, Deedra Johnson, Cement; two uncles: Myles Stephenson Sr. and Nathan Tselee; two aunts: Sharon Stephenson Wetselline and Mary Lou Stephenson Tselee, all of Anadarko; 20 first cousins and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother; grandparents: Nuss and Ella Lee Stephenson; three uncles: Smiley Stephenson, Dudley Stephenson and Vernon Stephenson; four aunts: Helen Stephenson, Winifred Stephenson Reedy, Barbara Stephenson Cook and Alma Stephenson Arredondo.
