HULSEY, Effie L. (Carr)
Funeral service for Effie Lou Hulsey, 89, of Chickasha, Okla., will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011, at Epworth United Methodist Church. Effie Lou was born in Chickasha, Okla., to Thomas Lester Carr and Cleo Fay Carr. She attended Chickasha Senior High School and the Oklahoma College for Women. In her Chickette uniform, she met Everett Elwood Hulsey at Clarences Dance Hall, where they began their love of dancing. She married Everett on June 28, 1941, at the First Christian Church in Chickasha. They were happily married for over 50 years. She was a loving mother to Jerry Lou Hulsey Caddel, Robert Bob Lester Hulsey, and Everett Breck Hulsey. She could always be found cheering at ballgames, leading scout meetings and supporting her children and grandchildren at all of their events. Caring for her family and creating a welcoming home were her top priorities. She also had a love of Christmas, and created magical memories year after year. She was an active member of Epworth United Methodist Church in Chickasha. Effie Lou was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Everett Hulsey; a son, Robert Bob Hulsey; two infant grandchildren: Tami and Sheridan; and a sister, LaNell Phillips. Survivors include a daughter, Jerry Lou and husband Bruce Caddel; a son, Breck Hulsey and wife Linda; two brothers: John Carr and wife Jo T.L. Bud Carr; a sister, Sue Sullins and husband Roy; five grandchildren: Chris Mastin, Carisa Sitton, Erica Brewer, Dustin Hulsey, and Kimberly Smith; nine great-grandchildren: Jake Mastin, Kendall Mastin, Brandon Sitton, Caleb Hulsey, Cason Hulsey, Dagen Brewer, Breven Brewer, Kailyn Smith, and Caden Smith. Interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery, under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Epworth United Methodist Church.
