JEVITA ANN KELL Known as Ann, of Yucaipa, CA, passed into the arms of the Lord on July 19, 2011. She was born in Cyril, Oklahoma, February 10, 1934 into a family of devoted teachers. Jevita's inborn passion for teaching and helping others was an unalterable trait which she demonstrated throughout her lifetime. Upon graduating from Chickasha High School in May of 1952, Jevita enrolled in the Oklahoma College for Women where she received her Bachelor of Science degree. In 1971, a Master of Arts in Teaching was received through the University of Redlands. Jevita's teaching career began in Tulsa, Oklahoma as an elementary teacher and spanned a total of forty-two years. Later, she joined the San Bernardino School system where she devoted her time to teaching handicapped children. During Jevita's tenure in San Bernardino, she was awarded numerous honors and became a mentor teacher to other teachers. Jevita's teaching did not end when she retired. Young people received not only her personal assistance, but also monetary gifts, which enabled them to attain a college education. She smiled when singing birds make their nests in a tree outside her window. She was a member of the Yucaipa Methodist Church and worked long hours with the children's choir. The happiness she brought to so many lives cannot be measured with mere words. She leaves to mourn, her cousins in Oklahoma and Tennessee and a host of friends. Service at Desert Lawn Funeral Home, Calimesa, CA, July 27, 11am.
