Funeral Services for Mary L. Lemons, 90, of Broken Arrow were held at 11 Wednesday, June 2, 2010, at Immanuel Lutheran Church. The Rev. John Wilke officiated. Burial was at 2p.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery in Claremore under the direction of Hayhurst Funeral Home. She died Thursday, May 27, at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa. Lemons was born Dec. 5, 1919, in El Reno, Okla., the daughter of Robert and Emma (Morrison) Pruet. A 1937 graduate of Chickasha High School, she attended Lindenwood College in St. Louis and received her Bachelor of Science Degree from the Oklahoma College for Women. She married Fred Lemons March 9, 1946, at Ft. Sill in Lawton. He preceded her in death in 1982. Lemons was an ASCP Medical Lab Technician. She worked at the Ft. Sill Army Hospital in 1945, the Claremore Indian Hospital, Claremore Health Center and Springer Clinic. A member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, she was a tour guide for Travel Tours and a member of Hill Toppers. She enjoyed playing bridge, reading, traveling, sewing, gardening, knitting, jewelry making and her Bible studies. She is survived by one daughter, Patti and husband Gary Hawkins of Broken Arrow, one granddaughter, Sheila and husband Bo Worley of Fayetteville, N.C.; one grandson, Kevin and wife Deby Hawkins, Oklahoma City; and two great-great-grandchildren, Susan and A.J.
