Eva Lorraine Chancellor Litton Eva Lorraine Chancellor Litton, former resident of Ponca City and resident of Oklahoma City, was born into a family of nine children on July 30, 1918, in Shawnee to Jess and Stella Miller Chancellor. She passed away Jan. 25, 2007, in Oklahoma City at the age of 88 years 5 months and 25 days.

Eva grew up in the Shawnee area and attended Bethel High School in Pottawatomie County. She studied at Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee. Later she received a bachelor's degree from The Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha. Eva was an educator and taught in Hazel Dell School, Hominy public schools, Ponca City public schools and in the Kildare public school systems. She was married to Burton C. Litton. They resided in Shawnee for several years. They later moved to Ponca City, where Burton worked for Nichols Machine Corporation. She was a resident of Ponca City for more than 50 years. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Ponca City and a founding member of the Pioneer Bible Church. She was also active in the women's Bible Study Fellowship and worked as a volunteer adult literacy instructor.

She was preceded in death by both her parents, Jess and Stella Miller Chancellor; her husband, Burton Litton who died in 1990; and several brothers and sisters. She is survived by her son, Larry Litton and wife Marilyn of Vista, Calif.; another son, Ken Litton and wife Carol of St. Louis, Mo.; a daughter, Debra Litton of Oklahoma City; a sister, Vivian Thompkins of Sacramento, Calif.; a brother, Mason Chancellor of Manteca, Calif.; four grandchildren, Mike Litton of Escondido, Calif., Cheryl Litton of San Marcos, Calif., Matthew Litton of Hot Springs, Ark., and Mark Litton of Tallahassee, Fla.; and two great-grandchildren, Michael Litton and Madison Litton, both of Escondido, Calif. Viewing and visitation will be held at Grace Memorial Chapel of Ponca City on Sunday from 1 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. The funeral will be held Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2007, at 10 a.m. at Grace Memorial Chapel officiated by the Rev. Larry Harris. Burial will follow immediately at Resthaven Memorial Park in Ponca City under the direction of Shurden Funeral Home of Henryetta.
