LUKENS, Charlene (Fox)

Charlene 'Char' Fox Lukens, 85, was welcomed into the arms of God on August 31, 2008. Char was born December 27, 1922 in Evanston, Ill. She spent her youth in Illinois and Oklahoma and attended Oklahoma Women's College. It was during this time that she met and married her dear husband of 60 years, Joe Lukens, who preceded her in death in 2003. Joe and Char raised their children in Wichita; Pat Lukens Coulter (Gary) of Colorado Springs, CO, and Buz Lukens (Katie) of Wichita. Char loved and adored her grandchildren: Chris Coulter (Sandi) of Colorado Springs, CO, Katie Coulter Martin (Scott) of Ft. Collins, CO, Adam Lukens of Oklahoma City, OK, and Cory Lukens of Dallas, TX. She also found great joy in the young lives of her four great grandchildren. Memorial Services have been changed from private to an open celebration of Char's life to be held on Monday, September 8, 2008, 10am, Grace Presbyterian Church. A memorial has been established with the Humane Society of Kansas, 4218 S. SW Blvd, Wichita, KS, 67210. Services by Broadway Mortuary.
