MAJORS, Louise
MAJOR -- Louise Major, 96, died Thursday, August 15, 2007. She was born in Ryan, OK on October 23, 1910. She was one of eight children. She is survived by nephews, Don Driggers and Robert Driggers; nieces, Anna Jane Current and Mary Edith Exum; 12 grand-nieces and grand-nephews; nine great-grand-nieces and great-grand- nephews. Louise was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and four sisters. She graduated from the Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha, OK, now known as the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma. In 1948 she moved to Albuquerque. Louise was employed by Sandia National Laboratory for over 22 years before retiring in 1973. She was active in the community. Louise enjoyed music, the theater and travel. She was avid sports fan and ardent gardener. Louise was the pianist for Christ United Methodist Church for over 20 years, she was active in the Women's organization as well as helping with the Church gardens. She was active in Green Thumb Garden Club, the Albuquerque Rose Society and The Council of Albuquerque Garden Clubs. Louise will be greatly missed by her many friends. Friends and family may visit French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, Sunday, August 19, 2007, 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Services will be held Monday, August 20, 2007, 2:00 p.m., at Christ United Methodist Church, 6200 Gibson Boulevard Southeast. Interment will immediately follow at Fairview Memorial Park Cemetery.
