After graduating from Oklahoma College for Women, she began teaching at Englewood, Kansas, where she met Darrel Mayer. They were married on March 26, 1941. In 1946, they moved to Kermit. She delighted in the relationships she formed with her students and the faculty at Kermit High School. Her memories of those years were among her most treasured. She was a charter member of the hospital’s Pink Ladies and the Garden Club. Her membership in P.E.O. was also of great pride. A special thanks to Eunice Reese, friend and caregiver as well as the Home Hospice of Andrews. Patsy was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Darrel Mayer. Those who will cherish her memory are son Marty Mayer and his wife Bobbie, daughter Judy and her husband Robert Crawford, one nephew Otto Frittz and his wife Jean, and one niece Susan Sussman.
