Mrs. Mildred Ozelle McCullough, a longtime resident of the Meridian community peacefully passed away Saturday morning, April 9, 2011 at Integris Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City, at the age of 81. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 12, at the Comanche First Baptist Church with Bro. Randy Southerland officiating. Interment will be at 1:30 p.m. at the Ninnekah Cemetery, under the direction of Comanche Funeral Home. Visitation will be at 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. Monday. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from 6-7 p.m. Ozelle was born March 26, 1930 in Ninnekah to Magness B. and Willie Etta (Conn) Boswell. She graduated from Ninnekah High School in 1948 and later graduated from Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha. She married James G. Bud McCullough on August 6, 1963 in Duncan. He preceded her in death on Feb. 15, 2005. They moved to Meridian in 1970. She was a member of the Comanche First Baptist Church. Ozelle loved gardening, reading, crocheting, quilting, cross stitching and taking care of her cats, however more than anything else, she loved being able to spend time with her family and friends. She is survived by her children: Doug McCullough and wife Carolyn, Wichita, Kan; David McCullough and wife Pam Wagner, Lewisville, Texas; Jim McCullough and wife Janatha, Justin, Texas; Diane McCullough, Oklahoma City; and Lori Sims and husband Kevin, Rockport, Texas; a sister: Billye June Griswold, Ninnekah; six grandchildren: Chase Rivera, Ashley Sims, Kilee Sims, Gage Sims, Grace McCullough and Paxton McCullough; and many other relatives and friends. Ozelle was preceded in death by her husband; her parents, and one sister, Lou Ann Smith. Memorial contributions may be made to the VA; Alzheimers Association; or the American Heart Association.
