Ella Minnie McDaniel, 90, died Thursday, March 8, 2007 in Sayre. Services will be Saturday, March 10, 2007 at 10 a.m. at the Granite United Methodist Church. Rev. Jim Hilton and Rev. Wendell Harris will officiate. Burial will be at the Brinkman Cemetery under the direction of PeopleÆs Co-operative Funeral Home.

She born Dec. 26, 1916 in Boone, Okla., to Ona Preston Martin and Hollis Martin. She was married to Jack McDaniel on Jan. 1, 1939 and they farmed in Greer County where they reared their family. She attended school in Boone and graduated from Apache High School. She was also a graduate of Oklahoma College for Women, class of 1938, and taught home economics for more than 30 years in Brinkman and Granite schools. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, Retired Teachers Association and the QuilterÆs Guild. She was an avid quilter and enjoyed being with her family and grandchildren whom she loved dearly.

Preceding her in death were her husband; one son, Ernie; and a brother, Howard Martin. Survivors include her two sons and their wives, Glenn and LaNelda McDaniel, Stillwater, and Mike and Carla McDaniel, Mangum; two brothers and their wives, Floyd and Dora Martin, Apache, and Ernest and Jessie Martin, Apache; sister, Helen Whittaker, Terrell, Texas; grandchildren, Brent McDaniel, San Antonio, Mindi Martin, St. Louis, Erin McCullough, Ft. Worth, Texas, Rodney Vaught, Willow, Okla., Colter Vaught, Carter, Okla., Shawn McDaniel, Idaho, Traci Cogburn, Purcell, Charlie Patrick, Woodward; and 13 great-grandchildren.
