McDOLE, Dorothy B. (Thompson)

Dorothy Bernice McDole, 92, died on Nov. 14, 2010 in Stillwater, Okla. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 22, 2010 at the First United Methodist Church in Stillwater with Reverend Stan Warfield officiating. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. She was born on June 12, 1918 in Paoli, Okla. to D. Lee and Susie Joe Thompson. She married Donald William Vest in 1941 in Pauls Valley, Okla. He preceded her in death in 1959. She married Robert Daniel McDole in 1964 in Stillwater, Okla. He also preceded her in death in 1990. She attended Oklahoma College for Women and Oklahoma A&M University. She was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church. Dorothy was a member of the Stillwater Hospital Auxiliary, Stillwater Mobile Meals volunteer, Susannah Wesley Women’s Church Guild, Stillwater Women’s Golf Association, OSU Posse Club, and Stillwater Travel Club. She is preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, James Thompson and Kelley Thompson. She is survived by her son, Donald Wade Vest and wife, Aileen; Daughter, Diana Vest Allen and husband, Willis, stepdaughter, Joye McDole King and husband, Norm; grandchildren, Sean Vest, Beau Vest, Justin Vest, Aleia Maciula, Patrick Allen, Kyle Allen and Keri Vanderlans; and great grandchildren, Addison Vest, Maile and Madilyn Vest, Mia Maciula, and Jessica, Matthew and Joseph Vanderlans.
