McKEE, Virginia (Reily)
Virginia McKee McKEE - Virginia, passed away August 9, 2009, in Odessa. TX, were she spent the last 6 years near family. She was born September 13, 1921, in Ponca City, OK. She was the daughter of Ed and Opal Reily. Virginia was a granddaughter of a pioneer who ran in the Oklahoma Sooner Run of 1896. Virginia married Frederick Calvin McKee on June 13, 1941, at First Christian Church in Ponca City, OK. They lived in Tulsa. OK from 1942 to 2003, and were members of the First Christian Church their entire life in Tulsa. They had celebrated their 61st Wedding Anniversary before Fred's death in 2004. Virginia was known for her beautiful singing voice in church, and she went to Oklahoma College for Women in 1939, for two years where she was a Music Major in Voice. She then moved to Stillwater, OK to continue her Education at Oklahoma A & M known today as Oklahoma State University, where she met her husband. Fred and Virginia loved to dance and they belonged to a local Dance Club which had dances once a month. They were members of the Tulsa Jaycees, and Virginia belonged to the local Garden Club. They loved traveling, whether it was with their two young daughters or later in their years together, both over seas or in their motor-home. Virginia is survived by: 2 daughters, Sherrie Belle Brinkworth of Rochester, MN and Vickie Clinton and her husband Michael of Midland, TX; 3 grandchildren, Stacie Halfman and her husband Joe of Byron, MN, Andrew Brinkworth and his wife Kersten of Sammamish, WA, and Melanie Teague and her husband Andrew of Lubbock, TX; and 7 great-grandchildren, Joshua, Abigail, Jocelyn, Morgan, Nicholas, Audrey, and Ketcher. A funeral service will be held at the Memorial Gardens Chapel on Wednesday, August 26, 2009, at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers or plants, the family requests memorials be made to Home Hospice, 516 N.
