McWHORTER, Menyoun F. (Clark)
Graveside service for Menyoun Freda McWhorter, age 81 of Chickasha, will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 19, 2011 in the Mountain View Cemetery, Mountain View. Trulan Clark will officiate. Menyoun Freda McWhorter was born the daughter of Harold Clark and Lillian Leonard Clark on Dec. 9, 1929 in Mountain View. She died on Nov. 16, 2011 in Odessa, Texas. She married John Farris in 1947 at Mountain View. He preceded her in death in 1963. Menyoun received her Bachelor Degree from Oklahoma College of Liberal Arts in 1968 and received her Masters from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in 1976. Menyoun taught at Friend, Butler, and Anadarko Public Schools. She retired from Anadarko Public Schools in 1994 after 26 years of teaching. Menyoun was a seamstress, gardener, and antique collector. She loved her family and her pets. She enjoyed flea markets, playing slot machines and joking with others. Menyoun was a member of the Epworth United Methodist Church. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Lillian Clark, four brothers, Gerald, Otho, Eddie, and Bobby Clark, sister, Linda Smith, son, Keith Farris, and grandson, Matt Baker. Survivors include daughter and husband: Jan and Gene Baker of Odessa, Texas; grandson and wife: Bret and Lisa Baker of Odessa, Texas; grandson: Justin Baker of Houston, Texas; grandson: Brian Farris of Chickasha; great-granddaughters: Lauren Baker and Keri Moore of Odessa, Texas; brother and wife: Hal and Shirley Clark of Duncan; brother and wife: Leroy and Kathy Clark of Oklahoma City; brother: Buddy Clark of Fort Worth, Texas; many nieces and nephews and other family members. Service is under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home, Chickasha.
