MOON, Neva J. (Reynolds)

Funeral service for Neva Janice Moon, age 81 of Chickasha, Okla., will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 18, 2011, in the McRay Funeral Home Chapel. Her nephew, Phil Reynolds will officiate. Neva Janice Moon was born the daughter of John Roger Reynolds and Neva Minnie Phillips Reynolds on June 21, 1930, in Hastings, Okla. She died on August 15, 2011, at her home. Janice married W. O. Moon, Jr., in 1948 in Texas. He preceded her in death on May 31, 1992. She graduated from Oklahoma College for Women with a teaching degree. Janice was a member of the Junior Social Workers and the Bridge Club. She was an avid reader and accomplished pianist. She was also preceded in death by her parents, John and Neva Reynolds, two brothers, John Phillips Reynolds and Art Reynolds, and sister, Elpha Jean Reynolds. Survivors include: daughter and son-in-law: Suzan Moon Shinder and James; daughter and son-in-law: Amy Moon Terry and Steven; son and daughter-in-law: W. R. Moon, Sr. and Deborah; son and daughter-in-law: Bo Moon and Rhonda; 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery. Service will be under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Women’s Service Center in Chickasha.
