MORRIS, Mattie L. (Bolling)
Shawnee resident Mattie Lucille Morris, 92, died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2007, in a Tulsa hospital. She was born Aug. 29, 1915, in Crowder Okla., to John Franklin and Nancy Isabelle (Denton) Bolling. Lucille completed her university education at Oklahoma College for Women followed by further study at Southeastern State University. She taught upper school math and science following graduation. The majority of her life was spent in Shawnee, as a homemaker and community volunteer. She was a member of McAlester United Methodist Church. She had spent the last year in Bixby, Okla. near her daughter and family. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Joseph William Morris, and all of her brothers and sisters. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, JoAnna and Ric Jamison of Bixby, Okla.; three grandchildren, Major Eric Jamison and wife, Allison, of West Point, N.Y., Dr. Andrew Jamison and wife, Meggan, of Ft. Worth, Texas, Leslie Ferguson and husband, Ryan, of Bixby, Okla.; three great-grandchildren, Jude Jamison, Hudson Jamison and a namesake, Ellis Lucille Jamison born Dec. 2, 2007; two nephews, John Robert Walker and William F. Bolling. Private family services were held with the Rev. Glen Pence officiating. Burial was at Resthaven Memorial.
