MUELLER, Lahoma J. (Crabtree)
Lahoma Jean (Crabtree) Mueller, 75, entered this life on October 3, 1934 born to W.O Tedö and Evelyn (Grimes) Crabtree in Wayne, Oklahoma and entered eternal life on Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at St. Anthony Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Jean grew up in Shawnee, Oklahoma where she attended Shawnee Schools until her senior year. Her family moved to Purcell in 1951 where she graduated high school. She attended Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha, Oklahoma and completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics. Jean married Harold Mueller in the First Methodist Church of Purcell, Oklahoma on June 25, 1955. The couple made their home for a short period of time in Kansas City, Missouri where she taught in the Kansas City Public Schools. They lived in Jackson, Mississippi and Norwalk, California later moving to Pauls Valley in 1958. She taught at Happy Valley Preschool in Pauls Valley, served as PTA president, Girl Scout Neighborhood Chairman and Girl Scout Leader. Jean was a member of the Valley Home Demonstration Club, First United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. Harold and Jean served as MYF sponsors at the Methodist Church for a time. She was very glad to assist in Gods Kids with Mary Woolsey. Hobbies Jean enjoyed most were sewing, reading, cooking, entertaining, traveling and camping. She was an avid tennis player in college and enjoyed being part of the tennis club in her adult years. It was very important to Jean to be sure her family was taught the value of attending worship faithfully. Jean took care of others and taught her children that it was important to be concerned for others welfare as part of living out ones faith. Those who knew Jean well remember how important it was to keep a schedule and stay on that schedule. Survivors include her husband, Harold Mueller of the home; 1 son, Stephen Lynn and his wife Kimberly of Byars, Okla.; 2 daughters: Stacey Lee Mueller of Pauls Valley, Okla., and Amy Beth Johnson and husband Lance of Austin, Texas; 1 sister, Aletta Rhea Crabtree of Wayne, Okla.; and 6 grandchildren: Stephen Michael Readnour, Eric Michael Holland, Ryan Thomas Holland, Logan Drew Johnson, Ashley Paige Johnson and Lane Wyatt Johnson. Services to celebrate her life are scheduled for Saturday, January 23, 2010 at 2 p.m. in the First United Methodist Church of Pauls Valley with Rev. Mark Watson and Rev. Pearla Goody officiating. Interment will be in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Wooster Funeral Home.
