Alumnus and former USAO admissions recruiter Alan R. Murry died Monday of a heart attack Monday, Sept. 13, 2004 in Siloam Springs, Ark. Murry was 41. At the time of his death, Murry was employed by John Brown University in Siloam Springs, Ark. He was married in August. His avocation was singing and public speaking. Murry was known for oratorial skills, especially for his presentation of Martin Luther King’s famous “I Have a Dream” speech. He graduated from USAO in 1985. His funeral will be in Siloam Springs on Friday. These scant details were made available Tuesday by former USAO Director of Alumni and School Relations, Ric Baser, who will serve as a pall bearer.
