NELSON, Elizabeth A. (Maricle)

Funeral service for Elizabeth Ann Nelson, 62, of Chickasha, will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010, in the New Life Christian Church. The Rev. Ezell Nelson will officiate. Ann was born the daughter of Harry Maricle and Dorothy Jones Maricle on July 17, 1947, in Tulsa. She died on Dec. 29, 2009, in Oklahoma City due to a seven-month battle with complications from diabetes. Ann graduated from Chickasha High School in 1965 and later graduated from OCLA, now USAO. She taught school at the Intermediate School and at Friend School. Ann worked as a social worker for the Department of Human Services for 30 years. She enjoyed cooking and collecting antiques. Ann especially loved her cats. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include: Daughter and Husband: Mindy and Preston Hall of Blanchard, Son and Wife: Chris and Nina Nye of Chickasha, Daughter and Husband: Melissa and Doug Mabry of Chickasha; Grandchildren: Lexi Hall; Christopher and Kale Nye; Dakota, Madison and Owen Mabry, Brother: John Maricle of North Carolina, Sister: Harriet Fewel of Texas; Sister: Sarah Hardy of McLoud and many Special Friends and Co-Workers at DHS. Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery. Service will be under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home.
