Annabelle Lee Ross Nieman, 85, passed peacefully into heaven on Monday, October 11, 2010 in Tulsa, OK. Annabelle was born to Ashby G. Ross and Annabelle Hollis Ross on February 15, 1925 in Kusa, OK. Annabelle graduated from Henryetta High School and Oklahoma College for Women. In 1948, while working for American Airlines in Mexico City, Annabelle met and married Ernesto Ornelas, Jr. In October 1962, Annabelle became affiliated with World Book Encyclopedia. In 1971, Annabelle and Lester John Nieman were married. After many honors, trips and promotions with World Book, Annabelle was promoted to Division Manager and transferred to Huntsville, AL. After 38 years with World Book, Annabelle retired in 2000. She is a member of Memorial Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Newton B. Ross; husband, Lester Nieman; and son, Michael Ornelas of Tahoe, NV. She is survived by her brothers, Ashby Ross and wife, Aileen, and Chester Ross and wife, Doris; sons, Steve Ornelas and wife, Diane, and Greg Ornelas and wife, Yolanda; daughters, Patricia Brooks and husband, Peter, and Sandy Holloway and husband, Steve, Debbie Campbell and husband, Curtis; fourteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 13 from 6-8 PM at Moores Southlawn located at 9350 E. 51st, Tulsa. Service will be held at Memorial Baptist Church, 2800 S. Yale, on Thursday, October 14, at 1:00 P.M. with graveside service in Okmulgee immediately following. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Annabelle lived a life totally dependent upon her Savior and Lord Jesus Christ. We will deeply miss her, but look forward to the day when we see her again! Moores Southlawn 663-2233.
