Lynn R. O'Daniel, age 59, died July 23, 2008 of cardiac arrest after a long battle with multiple myloma cancer. Lynn was the son of Howard and Viola O'Daniel and was born and reared in Minco, Oklahoma. He graduated from Oklahoma College of Liberal Arts with a Business degree. He was a Veteran with the Oklahoma Air National Guard, 137th Unit. He worked for over 30 years for Emery Air Freight and its affiliates. He lived in Dallas but spent most of his time and energy at his home on Piney Woods Lake near Frankston. An avid and gifted gardner he was President- Elect of the Anderson Co. Master Gardeners, an association of which he was proud. He and his friend Bill traveled extensively taking hikes and walks in England, France, Italy, Slovenia, Canada and the U.S. creating lifelong friendships along the way. Lynn's enormous energy, love of nature and great sense of humor will be missed by many. He is survived by his sisters Deanna Hardesty of Tuttle, OK, Susan Robinson of Minco, OK, his brother Neil of Tuttle, OK and his partner Bill Herndon of Dallas. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews from Oklahoma and Texas who adored him. He is predeceased by his parents and brother James. Visitations will be Sunday, July 27 from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. and Monday July 28 from 11:00 - 12:30 p.m. at Sparkman-Hillcrest. Burial will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday followed by a memorial service at Sparkman-Hillcrest at 2:00 p.m. Contributions may be made to the Anderson County Master Gardeners, 101 E.
