PEPPERS, Jean A. (Dobbs)
Jean Ann Dobbs Peppers, 80, of Arlington, died Wednesday, April 1, 2009, after a hospitalization in Oklahoma City. A private memorial will be held in Duncan on April 20. Jean was born June 3, 1928, in Hollis, Okla., to Oren Dobbs and Faremene Shook Dobbs Ellis. She graduated from Duncan High School in 1946, attended Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha, Okla., and married James M. Peppers in 1947. After his Navy tour, they moved to Houston, where James completed his engineering and law studies. They returned to Duncan in 1960, when he accepted a position with Halliburton. Jean also worked at Halliburton for several years as the secretary for the MRD division. They later moved to Arlington, where she retired after 25 years as a loan officer at Bank of America. James preceded her in death in January of 1990.Survivors include her daughters: Sandra Kraft of Oklahoma City, and Shirlie Howard and husband, Joey, of Dallas; sons: David Peppers of Orlando, Fla., and Robert Peppers and wife, Lee, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; grandchildren: Lauren Peppers of Fort Lauderdale, and Brian Kraft and wife, Heather, of Dallas; great-grandchildren: Karoline and Kennedy Kraft of Dallas, and several cousins. Her sweet personality will be greatly missed.
