Funeral service for Hal Gene Pike, age 53, of Chickasha, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 24, 2008, in the Southern Oaks Church of Christ. Jim Sheerer will officiate. Hal was born the son of Harold Gene Pike and Rheta Nadine St. John Pike on August 16, 1954, in Chickasha. He died on April 20, 2008, in Oklahoma City. Hal graduated from Chickasha High School at the age of 16. At the age of 19, he graduated from OCLA (now USAO) where he began working in 1978. While working at USAO, he entered the University of Oklahoma and received his masters degree in computer science. Hal retired from USAO as Director of Data Processing in 2005. He farmed and ranched fulltime his entire life even while he worked at USAO. He was a member of the Lions Club in which he was the tail twister for many years. He was also involved in many other areas. He recently received his license to perform wedding ceremonies. Hal also taught the concealed carry permit class and volunteered for CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate Volunteers). He loved to farm, hunt, and fish. Hal was a member of the Southern Oaks Church of Christ. Hal loved his Lord and served as a deacon of the church for many years. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Gene Pike. Survivors include: Wife: Rhonda Pike of Chickasha; Son and Wife: Joshua and Dena Pike of Chickasha; Son and Fiancée: Jacob Pike and Stacy Collier of Chickasha; Sister: Ileta Duffle of Chickasha; Mother: Rheta N. Pike of Chickasha Nephew and Wife: Anthony and Stormy Duffle of Alex; Nephew and Fiancée: Andrew Duffle and Cassie Perkins of Chickasha; Niece: Alana Duffle of Chickasha. Interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Service will be under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Christian College Scholarship Fund at Southern Oaks Church of Christ, 3320 S. 16th, Chickasha, OK. 73018.
