RAMSEY, Esta L. (Fitzgerald)
Ramsey, Esta Lee Esta Lee Ramsey, only daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Henry Fitzgerald, had four brothers, Joe, Floyd, C.N. and Loy. All have preceded her in death except brother, Loy Fitzgerald and wife Connie. Esta Lee Ramsey leaves a son, Dr. Steve Ramsey and wife, Lynda and grandsons Ben and Bart Ramsey, who brightened her life.
Esta Lee Ramsey was an educator for forty years and taught Vocational Home Economics in Yukon for twenty-five years. Much of her career was spent as a District Supervisor in Home Economics for the State of Oklahoma as well as State Supervisor for Future Homemakers of America. Her B.S. degree was from Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha, and Master's degree from Oklahoma University. Honors include: Masonic Teacher of the Year, Oklahoma Homemaker of the Year. Esta Lee Ramsey married Dr. Norman B. Ramsey in 1934. Esta Lee and Norman farmed for many years in Yukon and Union City. She continued her love for farming, and remained active overseeing much of the farm's care until her death.
Esta Lee requested memorials be made to the Mabel Fry Library and First United Methodist Church, Yukon. Services were held at Smith and Turner Chapel, 2:00 p.m., March 19, 2007 with interment at the Yukon Cemetery.
