RUBE, Patricia K. (Huntley)
Memorial service for Patricia Kathleen Rube, 48, Lawton, will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2007, at the ball park at Robinson's Boat Landing. Mrs. Rube died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2007, in Lawton. She was born April 9, 1959, in Muenchweiler, Germany, to Gordon Arthur and Irmgard Anni Gehring Huntley. She grew up in Lawton and graduated from Lawton High School in 1977. She received her bachelors of arts in deaf education from the University of Science and Arts in Oklahoma in December 2004. She worked as an educator for children with hearing disabilities. She recently taught as a special education teacher for the Oklahoma School of the Deaf in Chickasha at the elementary level until becoming ill in July. She also taught in Lawton and in Mesa, Ariz. Before entering the education field she worked at Goodyear Tire and Rubber and at Haggar Apparel in Lawton. She also volunteered at Legal Aid of Lawton, and the C. Carter Crane Homeless Shelter. She was a member of the Lions Club International. She is survived by a son, Teddy Dustin Peeler, Lawton; a daughter and son-in-law, Andrea and Brian Reid, Oklahoma City; two brothers: Don Huntley and family, Mesa, and Robert Huntley and family, Lawton; and two sisters: Delores Dickerson and family, Norman, and Cathy Stone and family, Lawton.
