Mrs. Norma Lea Sanderson, 75, of Bartlesville, died at 4:52 p.m. Friday at the Jane Phillips Medical Center. Memorial services for Mrs. Sanderson will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, October 28, 2007 at the Binger Congregational Church at Binger, Oklahoma with Rev. Jake Hicks officiating. Local arrangements and cremation were under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory. In lieu of flowers memorial funds have been established and those who wish may send their contributions to the Binger Community Center, Binger, Oklahoma, 73009 or to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, 825 N.E. 13th Street, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, 73104-9930. Mrs. Sanderson was born on December 11, 1931 at Binger, Oklahoma to Charles W. and Ruby E. (Finch) Drake. She grew up and received her education at Binger and graduated from high school there. She then attended the Oklahoma College for Women at Chickasha, Oklahoma where she received her Bachelors Degree in Education. She later attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University at Weatherford, Oklahoma where she received her Masters Degree in Psychology. She was married to Cecil Owen Sanderson on January 23, 1953 at Chickasha, Oklahoma. They made their home at various locations in the United States and overseas during Mr. SandersonÆs career with the United States Air Force until his retirement in 1973. They made their home at Binger for 21 years until moving to Bartlesville in 1996. Mrs. Sanderson had taught school at Binger and at Eakly, Oklahoma. Since their retirement, Mr. and Mrs. Sanderson have traveled extensively. Mrs. Sanderson was a member of the Binger Congregational Church at Binger, Oklahoma and attended the First Presbyterian Church in Bartlesville. Survivors include her husband, Cecil Sanderson of Bartlesville, one son, Don Sanderson and his wife, Cindy of Fort Worth, Texas, one sister, Annetta Smith and her husband, Leon of Bartlesville, two grandsons, Keith Sanderson and Aaron Sanderson, a number of nieces and nephews, Gerry Krausse, Glenda Sanderson, Phyllis Mashburn, Ricky Lee, Mike Lee, Danny Lee, Myrna Teague, Larry Sanderson, Roger Sanderson, Jeff Sanderson, LeAnne Ames and her husband, Lenard, and Dwayne Smith, great nieces and nephews, C.J. Brendle, Kathie Buchanan, and Scott Ames, and great great niece and nephew, Max Goad and Mallory Brendle. Mrs. Sanderson was preceded in death by her parents.
