SHARP, Charlicie (Brown)
Charlicie Sharp, 87, died Monday, Aug. 6, in Norman. She was born May 20, 1920, to Will and Ella Brown in Oilton. She attended Oilton High School and graduated in 1938. Later she attended Central State College in Edmond and received her degree in education from Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha. On Dec. 20, 1940, she married Austine Sharp in Edmond. They lived in Middleburg until 1951, moving to California. Charlcie was a devoted member of Bethel Baptist Church, family said, and she enjoyed reading, oil painting, sewing, gardening and golfing. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas Henry Brown of Tulsa and Ray Brown of Gainesville, Texas; and one sister, Jewell Brieden of Robstown, Texas. She is survived by her children Sherry Crabtree and husband Charley and Allan ""Wayne"" Sharp; one sister, Mary Francis McAnerar; one brother, R.G. Brown; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be 10 a.m., Saturday at the Guardian Norman Funeral Home Chapel of Remembrance in Norman. She will be buried at Rose Hills Cemetery in Whittier, Calif., beside her husband.
