SIEWERT, Helen F. (Nuernberger)
Helen Frances Siewert passed away June 20, 2010. She was born in Verden, Okla. on Oct. 8, 1921 to O.E. and Helen Nuernberger. She graduated from Chickasha High School in 1938 as class valedictorian and was Oklahoma State Girls Tennis Champion in 1939. The following year, she entered Oklahoma College for Women, graduating with honors in 1944. For eight years she worked in Tulsa, Okla. for IBM, training customers in the use of business machines. In 1951 she married C.L. Siewert and lived and traveled all over the Southwest in connection with her husband's work in the pipeline construction business. They had three sons: Clark, Charles and Allen. Settling in Lubbock in 1961, she became a devoted member of the Lubbockview Christian Church. She enjoyed travel and sports, was a volunteer at West Texas Hospital and loved socializing and playing cards with her sisters and friends in the "Needle Club." She will be missed by family and friends for her warmth, kindness, and intelligence. She is survived by her sister Ruth, of La Jolla, Calif.; two sons, Charles of Los Angeles, Calif. and Allen of San Francisco, Calif.; and three grandsons, Keir, James, and Adam. Visitation will be Wednesday at 9 a.m. in Resthaven Abbey Chapel with funeral service following at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Bill Hendricks officiating, followed by burial in Resthaven Memorial Park.
