Smith, Cleo Mae Funeral service for Cleo Mae Smith, age 91 of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 15, 2007, in the McRay Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Johnny Tims will officiate. Cleo Mae was born the daughter of David and Etta Reid on December 28, 1915, in Alfalfa, Oklahoma. She died on November 12, 2007, in Oklahoma City.Cleo attended Alfalfa Schools and graduated from Alfalfa High School in 1934. After graduation, she attended Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee and later attended Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha. She then began teaching school in the Alfalfa area. On September 25, 1942, she married Howard Smith in Alfalfa. After their marriage, Cleo and Howard moved to Homestead, Florida, until 1946. They moved back to Chickasha for the remainder of their lives. Cleo was a member of the First Baptist Church where she had worked in the First Baptist Church nursery for twenty-five years. She also worked in the MotherÆs Day Out program at the Epworth United Methodist Church for many years.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Howard Smith, five sisters, Mary King, Opal King, Lola Wilkerson, Francis Turk, LaDau Reid, and three brothers, Charles, Earl and Paul Reid.Survivors include:Son: Joe Smith of Tuttle; Daughter and Son-in-law: Gayla and Sam Bailey of Ponca City; Daughter: Kay Smith of Chickasha; Grandsons: Josh and Jacob Bailey.Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery. Service will be under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home.
