Mary Elizabeth Steigleder, 89, of Duncan, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, Jan. 22, 2012, at her home in Duncan. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, in First Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Sue Trei-Conrad officiating. Interment will follow in Duncan Cemetery, under direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Elizabeth was born Aug. 11, 1922, in Beggs, the daughter of R.L.A. and Nellie B. Humphreys Steigleder. Her family moved to Duncan when she was in grade school, and she graduated from Duncan High School in 1939. She later attended the Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha. She later moved to Washington, D.C., and worked as a secretary for the Federal Government. After moving back to Duncan, she worked for Halliburton as a secretary. Elizabeth is survived by nephews Rick D. Trent, of Duncan, Roy R. Steigleder, of Spokane, Wash., and John T. Mitchell, of Dallas, Texas; and nieces Jon Steigleder Bozard, of Dillon, S.C., Sally Mitchell Ernest, of Dallas, Nellie Trent Mercer, of Norman, Peggy Trent Hollars, of Cochran, Ga., and Sally Trent Plagens, of Houston, Texas; and numerous great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Roy, Tommy, James Milton and William; and two sisters, Virginia and Margaret Ann. Pallbearers will be Lonnie Helms, Scott Postlethwaite, Blake Lipscomb, Bob Bentley, Steve Reasor and Mike Steil.
