Healdton, OK Funeral services for Marguerite Tayar, 85 of Healdton will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2009 at the First Baptist Church in Healdton, with Rev. Harold Hunt officiating and Rev. Dan Patman assisting. Interment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Ardmore, under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home in Healdton. Marguerite was born to Frank F. and Emily (Massad) Tayar on Oct. 5, 1924 in Healdton. She passed from this life on Nov. 14, 2009 in the Ardmore hospital. She was a lifelong resident of Healdton, where she attended school, graduating in 1942. She then received her B.S. degree from Oklahoma College for Women. After returning to Healdton she was employed by Healdton High School and later co-managed alongside her brother Tenel, the E. Tayar Department Store. Marguerite dearly loved Healdton and was very active there. She was a lifelong active member of the First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Healdton Music Club, Business and Professional Women and the Order of Eastern Star. Aunt Mag is what Marguerite’s nieces and nephews called her with such affection. Her friends were always welcome for a meal or a game of cards. Her homemade cabbage rolls and her famous rum cake was the comfort food she shared with her friends and loved ones. Mag’s devotion to her family was an example to everyone who knew her, as she took care of her mother, brother Ernie and the church all of her life. She will be forever missed by her family and friends. Preceding Marguerite in death are her parents, brothers, Joe Tayar and Ernie Tayar and sisters Zeek Tayar, Edith Tayar Beal and Marjory Tayar Saied. She is survived by her brothers Fred Tayar of Ardmore and Tenel J. Tayar and wife Maha of The Woodlands, Texas; sister, Josephine Tayar Aboussie, of Oklahoma City, and numerous nieces and nephews and their families, and many many friends. Pallbearers will be Tenel H. Tayar, William Tayar, Joe Tayar, Mark Tayar, Fred Tayar ll and Elby Beal. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The First United Methodist Church in Healdton PO Box 456 Healdton, OK. 73438 Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday November 16, 2009 at the Funeral Home.
