THOMAS, Vivian R. (Henson)
HEALDTON Services for Vivian Rosamond Thomas, 92, will be 11 a.m. Friday, March 7, 2008, in the United Methodist Church with Brother Joel Thompson officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Pauls Valley. Vivian was born in Wanette, on July 1, 1915, to Clyde and Rose Clergett Henson. She passed from this life on Monday, March 3, 2008, at home. Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Forrest Thomas; and son-in-law, Warren Roberts. A graduate of Healdton High School, Vivian attended one year at Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha. She married Forrest Thomas on Aug. 24, 1933, in Duncan. The couple settled in Healdton where they shared many happy years together. Vivian worked as a bank teller, and later as an insurance agent for First National Insurance Agency. She was also the interim postmaster at Healdton in her husband's absence during World War II. After a 30-year career, she retired to travel with Forrest and enjoy her grandchildren, and later, great-grandsons. Throughout her life, Vivian was an active member of the United Methodist Church, a choir member, and held various leadership positions. Vivian was a member of Business Professional and Women's Club, as well as various other civic groups. Her family will miss this independent, feisty, fun-loving, yet very practical lady. She will be greatly missed by her daughter, Diana Roberts; three grandchildren: Lee Roberts and husband, Todd King; Deidre Moser and husband, David; and Brett Roberts; great-grandsons, Jackson King, Ty King, Alexander Moser and Henry Moser.
