Winifred Knight Thompson IRCC, Viera Winifred Knight Thompson died peacefully on July 19, 2010. She was born in Norman, Oklahoma on June 28, 1921. She received a BS in Home Economics from Oklahoma College for Women and a Masters degree from Drexel University, PA. During WWII she served three years as a Navy WAVE Disbursing Officer. She married Lewis Thompson in 1946, and lived in Newtown Square, PA, Huntington, NY, and Cherry Hill, NJ. She taught high school Home Economics in PA and NJ. In 1977 she moved to Indialantic, FL and worked as a Real Estate Broker Associate. She was a member of WAVES National and the PEO Sisterhood. She traveled extensively in 5 continents. She enjoyed playing the piano and organ and served as choral accompanist at various times. She is survived by sons, Richard and Robert; three grandsons; and a sister, Ikie Evans. She was predeceased by son, Lewis Thompson, III; husbands, Lewis Thompson, Jr. and George Hervochon; and sister, Jeanette Standridge. A Memorial Service will be at her Church, Suntree United Methodist, on August 11th at 2:30 p.m. Internment will be at Valley Forge Gardens, PA.
