Anna Louise Turley, 90, passed away Thursday, Aug. 25, 2011, in Duncan. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, at the Marlow Cemetery with Dr. Travis Muse officiating. Services will be under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow. Louise was born Friday, Oct. 1, 1920, in Cement, to S.L. and Flora (Henton) Sieg. Louise lived in Cement, Chickasha, Pocasset and Marlow. She graduated high school in Cement and later received her BA in education from Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha. She taught school for many years and started the Head Start program in Marlow. Louise married Edgar Boyd Turley on Dec. 27, 1942. He preceded her in death on Sept. 4, 2003. Louise was a devoted spouse and a loving caretaker for people. She was an avid reader, loved to play the piano and was very artistic. She loved to draw and do artwork. Louise was a former member of the Eastern Star and very active in the First United Methodist Church. She was awarded the United Methodist Woman of the Year. Survivors include two daughters, Leah Green and husband D.B. of Marlow, and Kala Pennington of Newcastle; grandchildren, Kim Pennington Jenkins of Norman, Kari Lancaster of Dallas, Texas, Brent Green of Bethany and Brad Pennington of Norman; great-grandchildren, Abbie, Madison, Kasen, Guthrie, Buddy, Kristana, Riley, Hannah and Camden; and numerous nieces and nephews. Louise was preceded in death by her parents, brother David Sieg and sister Edith Salyer. Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.
